Who is Ray Sexton?
My name is Ray Sexton. I am a college student, a confessional Lutheran, a Kansas City Chiefs fan, a future pastor, and a semi-professional podcaster. I am also a second-generation LCMS Lutheran who is devoted to spreading the Gospel through the words of Christ both online and in person.
Why Lift High the Cross?
I began this podcast to encourage younger audiences to see the importance of theology and stay connected to the church. Along the way, Lift High the Cross has become a platform where Lutheran pastors and scholars can share their teaching and testimony, while also bringing the comfort of Christ crucified and risen into the everyday lives of listeners.
Our Confession
This podcast is rooted in the confession of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We hold to the Scriptures as the inspired Word of God and the Lutheran Confessions as a faithful witness to that Word. Every episode is centered on the saving work of Jesus Christ, crucified and risen for the forgiveness of sins.
Looking Ahead
Through the continued support of listeners, Lift High the Cross is preparing for bigger projects. We are working toward producing seminary tours in St. Louis and Fort Wayne, developing Lutheran documentaries and YouTube series, and building a dedicated studio space for interviews and conversations. With the help of a full-time video editor, these projects will expand the reach of this ministry and bring the Gospel into new formats and settings.
